In the following days, a plethora of students around the world joined the #FridaysforFuture strike, which saw students skip school on Fridays in protest of climate change. Climate campaigners from around the globe organized the initial Global Strike for Climate in the year 2019. The event was an enormous success; over 1.6 million participants from more than 125 nations took part.
