Sofia Vergara

Sofia Margarita Vergara Vergara was born and was raised at Barranquilla, Colombia. Margarita Davila De Vergara is her mother. Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo provides cattle for meat processing industries. There are five brothers and sisters. Her education was at a private bilingual Spanish/English school. After that, she went to pre-dental school. But, Sofia was discovered by photographer at the beach. This was the catalyst for a number of job opportunities in television and modeling. Models were already runway-ready when she was 23. When she was in the United States, her travel show Fuera de serie, which she hosted between 1995 and 1998, provided her with exposure. She was the first actress to play a role in the 2002 crime comedy Big Trouble. Gloria Delgado Pritchett was the part that led her to become the main character on Modern Family, an American show on television (2009). For this role, she received four Emmy nominations between 2010 and 2013, for Outstanding Actress in Comedy Series. Sofia lives in Los Angeles, California with her son, Manolo.
